HRIS Integration - Frequently Asked Questions

Need help with some of the nuance of HRIS Integrations? Check out these frequently asked questions to see if you can find a solution.

Does Talentcare collect or store any personal or private candidate data?

No, Talentcare does not collect or store any personal or private candidate data. Information such as date of birth, SSN, background information, etc. is never stored because our ATS has no use for that information.

Are our integrations cloud based?

Talentcare's entire environment is cloud based, including our APIs and integrations.

How are integrations tested?

During the development phase of our integrations, we work in a developer/sandbox environment until the integration is ready for production. For more information about the integration phases, please visit: Integration Phases

How do we authenticate our integrations?

Whether using APIs or FTP, our integrations are authenticated in a number of ways, using user credentials, API keys, and authorization tokens.

How are eligible candidates found?

Every night, a search is run through the candidate database, looking for eligible candidates based on specific status codes provided by the HRIS. A report is created, detailing the candidates that are sent to the HRIS successfully, and the ones that failed to send and why. We try to re-send those failures up to five times (once per day).

What if a candidate fails five attempts?

If a candidate fails to send to the HRIS after five attempts, the candidate may need to be entered manually. If this is the case, a support ticket will need to be created.

How are APIs created and published?

Our APIs are built to the specifications of the system new hires are sent to. For more information about the process, please visit: API Integrations

REST vs SOAP vs FTP

REST and SOAP are both types of APIs and have a lot of similarities. SOAP is older and relies on XML for messaging services. REST is lighter and less cumbersome than SOAP, and typically relies on URL for web services. Learn more about these APIs below:

FTP is not an API, and is typically used to transfer files, often CSVs to the HRIS. Learn more about FTPs below:

Can requests be restricted based on IP Addresses or other means?

We do not typically restrict requests by IP Addresses by default, however we can if your company requires these restrictions.

What are your API uptime rates and maintenance hours?

We take pride in having a 99.9% uptime rate! As for maintenance, we generally run routine maintenance after standard business hours and on weekends, as needed.
